These terms govern your use of Property Sentinel. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
Property Sentinel is operated by City Logical LLC, an Illinois limited liability company (“Property Sentinel”, “we”, “us”). By accessing propertysentinel.io or using any of its services, you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you use the service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.
Property Sentinel is an information service: we aggregate publicly available government records about Chicago properties — 311 service requests, building permits and violations, assessments, deeds, and related data — and organize them into reports, dashboards, and monitoring alerts. We do not create, modify, certify, or guarantee the underlying public records.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account, keep your sign-in credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 to use the service.
You agree not to:
Not a consumer reporting agency.Property Sentinel is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and the service may not be used to determine any person’s eligibility for credit, insurance, housing, or employment, or for any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.
The data we display is aggregated from records published by the City of Chicago, Cook County, and other government and public sources. Those records remain the property and responsibility of their publishers and are subject to the publishers’ terms of use. Property Sentinel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government agency.
Data is presented for informational purposes only and is provided without warranty of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Records may contain errors or lag the underlying source, and alerts may be delayed or incomplete. Nothing on the service is legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. Verify critical details against the original government source before relying on them for any legal, financial, insurance, compliance, or investment decision.
The service — its software, design, organization, derived analytics, and branding — belongs to City Logical LLC. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for its intended purpose while your account is in good standing. Underlying public records are not claimed as our property.
The service depends on third-party providers (hosting, authentication, payments, email, mapping). We are not responsible for their outages, and links to external sites — including government data portals — are provided for convenience without endorsement.
We work to keep the service available and the data current, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may modify or discontinue features at any time.
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, City Logical LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
You agree to indemnify and hold City Logical LLC harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including the disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing-law provisions — survive it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts sitting in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify account holders by email. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
